Crazy ===== By Bryce Fitzsimons brycef84@hotmail.com http://thehobbit.n3.net - My webpage. Not related to HL in any way. I was very tired and feeling somewhat crazy when I made this HL DM map. It's a little strange, but a lot of fun, especially when you turn the gravity down to about 200 (or less). I do warn you: be careful where you step! Those who do not like platform/space levels will have a really difficult time with this map. Here's an interesting little side note about the actual map-creation process: The map file contains far too many entities; whenever I tried to add more entities, WorldCraft 3.3 would overflow and refuse to load the level. Thus, I began my first ever experience of mapping via Notepad. I would manually edit the file, pull out extra entities and put them in a temporary text file, edit the map again in WC, then paste the extracted entities back into the file. Needless to say, the map still took forever to compile (not only because there were far too many entities, but also because some brushes had funny angles. Fortunately, because I know a lot of batch compile optimizations, the map retains reasonably good speeds. This includes a few custom textures; these are compiled in the actual BSP file. This map and other maps of mine are available at http://thehobbit.wox.org/hl-maps/ Release date: March 9, 2002 File Size: 912 KB
